Why I Joined
The economics of air defense are upside down. A small attack drone can cost a few thousand dollars, while the interceptor fired to stop it can cost hundreds of thousands — sometimes millions. I write about this cost curve often, because I believe it's one of the defining problems in modern defense.
After building and selling three companies, I wanted to work on a problem that matters at that scale. That's why I co-founded Talon Avionics with Dmitrii Akopian: to make drone defense affordable enough to scale. This is the hardest, most important problem I've worked on — and it's the one I intend to spend this chapter of my career on.
